Let me tell you a story...

A few months ago I was mucking around at work. I was sitting on the floor sorting parcels to be carded to the box holders and I came across this parcel to the local Catholic Church. It was a box full of Altar breads. I moved up onto my knees and knelts there offering up this parcel..mucking about and saying that I hope God doesnt strike me dead..blah blah blah..kidding around to get a laugh out of my work mate. I put the parcel to the kind Father on the shelf and noticed that my hand started to itch terribly and start to swell. I rushed to the toilet..removed my rings and washed my hands..and thought nothing of it.

But not long after that I found that I would develop these intensly itch weals on my body if I bumped myself..or scratched my skin or even if I wore tight clothing and it rubbed on my skin. From the top of my head to the soles of my feet I would come up in these weals.

My doctor suggested that I go to the Allergy clinic at the John Hunter Hospital and the specialist there sent me off for all these blood tests..testing my for a shit load of things.

I make another appointment to see him on December 5th but the receptionist rang me the other day saying that the specialist would like to see me sooner seeing as he has my blood results back. Now its bloody hard to get an appointment to this clinic and I had to wait over 8 weeks to get in, now all of a sudden he can get me in early?

My own doctor rang me and told me that she was sent some of the early blood tests and told me that my iron count was down and I should get myself some iron suppliments. knew my iron count was down because I dontate plasma at the blood bank every fortnight and I've been watching my iron cound steadily decline..well ever since that incident with that bloody catholic box really.

I cant wait til Wednesday to see what the cause of all this..Im hoping that its just a physical result from stress because this year hasnt been the best.

OK Ive been back to th Specialist and he showed my the results of my blood test and everything came back negative except for a very positive result for Coeliac Disease.

Some level in your blood is suppose to be between 20-25 well mine was a reading over 300.

Doctor told me to slowly cut gluten products from my diet over the next 3 months and I go back for another round of blood tests to see if the result has changed. Next blood results in mid February.

Silly thing is, I dont eat a lot of gluten products anyway so its not going to be a big change of diet.

Next step is a gastroendoscope test and that didnt sound like a lot of fun.

I've had two of those...I wouldn't do the throat spray...and It wasn't all that bad...mostly you were in la la land...maybe a little gag, but nothing more...it is over so quickly....
